  • I'd give it ten stars, if I could! These are the best cupcakes I have EVER had, beating all the "cupcake" bakeries I've been to, including those in NYC! I usually fall for cupcakes based on how they look, only to be let down when they all end up tasting the same, despite their supposedly different flavors. Not THESE cupcakes...the vanilla tasted like vanilla and the chocolate (with yummy peanut butter icing) tasted like chocolate! Seems dumb, I know, but those who've been through the cupcake phase along with me, know exactly what I mean. The cupcakes were moist and undoubtedly fresh; the icing was perfect, not the crunchy sweet you sometimes encounter. I tried their signature vanilla cupcake with pink buttercream icing, a lemon (yummy and just the right amount of tartness) and the aforementioned chocolate. I truly cannot choose a favorite! I am currently visiting from PA, so this was my first visit to Smallcakes. It has now become my favorite dessert spot (no more "bundt" cakes for me), and I WILL be back!
