Second visit to Midwood Country Club blew my prissy socks off. I ordered a glass of red wine from the bartender. He gave me a nice pour and said, " please taste it to make sure that it is fresh. I am not here all the time, and I hope that the bottle isn't stale." What bartender even cares about that at a pool hall? My husband confirmed that the bartender was indeed the owner of Midwood Country Club. But still. Very impressive attention to detail. And, by the way, the wine was just fine. Especially for a billiards establishment.
I really enjoyed the music, too. There is a juke box, and it appears to be loaded with all of the best from the eighties: Billy Idol. ELO, and David Bowie.
So, I have upped the rating. I will just avoid looking at the deer head.
