| - I'm taking a beginner's Deutsch class at UNLV & saw this place on the club's FB page. After my friend gave a presentation about the delicious German foods & pastries in class that's all it took for me to make a visit here :-P
It's a little bake shop in the mini mall near Walmart where Ross is & the consignment store used to be on Eastern. Really easy parking & access. The shop is small, bright, & clean. The man working there was nice, answered my questions when I didn't know what something was. I also like that they let you know when a pastry is a few days old & they mark it down. I don't mind older pastries (sometimes they taste better that way!) but I prefer to know so I respect them for being honest because I can't tell you how many times I've bought a pastry somewhere only to realize it's not fresh.
I ordered an apple crumble (baked that day) & Black Forest roll. Also bought some vegetarian Haribos & sauerkraut (haven't tried them yet but they look great). The baked goods were really delicious. Not super sweet like American style, very light & great with tea which I enjoyed. I would get both again especially the crumble. Definitely want to try the other flavors they have.
They have other baked goods like bread, croissants, and pretzels as well. For the meat eaters, they also have brats, cheeses, sauces, dressings, etc. Lot's of popular German staples if you're looking to try new things or find something familiar from your home country (for the Deutsch born Las Vegans).
I'll definitely be back!
