  • Overall I am not a fan. Prior to my visiting the shop I read the online reviews and was happy to see that all were 5 stars. I have numerous 'Vintage" Pioneer and Bose pieces of equipment that due to their life will require some tweaking to make sound and work as good as new. I brought my vintage automatic turntable in for service. Was told that it would be worked on in and have an estimate in 5 days. On day 7 I called to get a status and was told that I would hear back from them in a few more days. I then heard back from them 2 days after they promised and then was given an estimate. (missed opportunity #1) I approved the repairs with the mindset that all would be fixed. I received another call 8 days later to say that the repairs were indeed completed. Cost was actually $15 over the estimate. No worries, these things happen. (missed opportunity #2) Arrived the next morning, again thinking all has been repaired. Picked up my turntable and paid my bill. (missed opportunity #3) I arrived home, connected my turntable to my receiver and attempted to play an album. It did not work! I tried 6 more albums all with no better results than the first. I even pulled out my owner's manual to ensure that I was doing things correctly. Still no go. Attempted to play an album in manual mode and that appears to work just fine. Called Godar and talked with Mike. He stated that it would have cost another $150 to get the auto play to work. Then he changed his mind and stated that he was thinking about another repair, yet proceeded to tell me the same story about my unit. I stated that when I received the estimate I was under the impression that all would be repaired, and there was no mention of the auto play "NOT" working. He stated that it was poor communication. He also stated that he has a similar turntable and never uses the auto mode. As I listed above there were 3 opportunities that were presented and missed to give me the details about the cost for the auto play repair, yet I was not contacted to get my opinion on what I would like done to my turntable. I did not receive an apology nor did I receive an opportunity to have the auto play repaired. As I stated above, I have quite a few vintage turntables and receivers. I was excited to find a local business that could perform these repairs. I still have several units that require adjustments, only now I have no place to go. I am hoping that someone who has had better luck will read this review and steer me in another direction I am still shaking my head in Chandler?!?!
