  • **EDIT** - After sending a note to the GM, I received a very helpful phone call apologizing for a seemingly "misread" situation. The quick response effort has had me change my rating from 2 to 3 stars. I am in the preliminary stages of buying a car, and I wanted to test drive a few vehicles before deciding on one and talking money. In an effort to not waste sales people's time during their busy periods, I took a day off of work and visited the dealership early afternoon on a Friday. There were two other customers being helped and a raft of idle salesmen. The salesman that approached me, going by the nickname "Coach" seemed friendly enough at first. When I was up front with him about not buying a car today and wanting to test drive a 4Runner and a Tacoma, his demeanor changed. He tossed me his card and a brochure, and told me to come back the following Monday as he "didn't have time" for me while his month-end hours ticked down. I handed him back his card and said that I didn't need a card from someone not interested in helping me spend tens of thousands of dollars, at which point he sighed, said "give me your license, so I can miss out on a sale while you drive around." At this point I asked for a new rep. Luckily, we found Travis, and he was willing to take 15 minutes to take me on a test drive. Again, I was up front with my intentions, but he was willing to walk me through trim levels and options. If I end up buying a Toyota, I will return to use his services. It is a shame - the brand new dealership is beautiful, and is very convenient for me, so I would like to buy there, but the whole experience has me seriously considering competing dealerships and vehicles, all of whom were willing to accomodate me on this same last day of the month. I will be sending a similar note to the GM, but I want this experience out there in the public in case anyone else runs into Coach while preparing to spend a lot of money on a new car. Beware!
