| - I came to The Range 702 and took their free CCW class. Now, when I say free, I mean free; I came in at 9am, left at 6:30pm, and paid exactly zero dollars. You were required to bring your handgun, weapon case, 30 rounds of ammunition, and ear and eye protection (you could also rent all of these things if you did not have a handgun).
Our instructor, Alex Moore, came from a military background and was very knowledgeable in techniques, tactics, and procedures relating to all things firearms. Like me, I'm sure most of you are wondering if the content of the class correlated with the price; I assure you it didn't. I would have gladly paid $100 for the class and I do not feel that I was short changed with information just because this was a free class.
One of my favorite parts of the class was learning all of the laws and responsibility that go along with legally carrying a concealed weapon. Mr. Moore did an awesome job of teaching the laws and providing practical scenarios in regards to the law. I also have a lot respect for him telling us to seek legal advice for some of the strange scenarios that a few students posed that were pretty off base. He's a very qualified firearms instructor, not a lawyer.
As far as the qualification goes, its fairly easy and you can look up the requirements yourself. The actual firearms range at The Range 702 was top notch. They have a lot of lanes but they are separated into "mini ranges" so that you don't have the chaos that ensues with 25 lanes and a few inexperienced shooters.
Overall, I will for sure recommend this to all of my friends and will be back for further training.
