Bought 3 vouchers from one of the LivingSocial or Groupon deals, the Holiday Lights Bus Tour normally $50 for $25 per person. We enjoyed the ride itself to our light destinations. The accommodations were very nice and the bus was well taken-care of and decorated for the holidays. We brought our 3 year old and it was fun seeing him interact with the other passengers.
However, I felt it missed a bit of personal touch from the staff.. The employees were nice but nothing about the interaction with them felt memorable. I didn't get any kind of Christmas spirit vibe from them, and it seemed as if our ride was just another job.
We were promised 3-4 stops and only got 2. During the 2nd stop we went to the Mormon Temple in downtown Mesa, and they let passengers wander the ground for an entire 40 minutes! I say 20-25 is plenty to get around and not feel rushed. On top of that they pulled out at the specified time, but forgot a couple of passengers. Fortunately someone on the bus caught it and brought it to the driver's attention.Seems it would make sense to keep track of how many people were riding the bus.
$75 for 2 hours of driving and 2 overly-lengthy stops? No thanks, could have done much better on my own.
