Chase representatives contacted me to address the issues after I submitted a complaint. My understanding is that it is Chase's policy to use a particular type of money counting machine that is not available at every window when the teller receives certain number of higher valued biils. What the teller should have done is informing me that she was taking money out of my sight and that she will be going to another window.
The representative classified this incident as a "customer service" issue, aka the teller was having bad day, and assured me they will do better next time. I was honestly shocked how someone actually cared and how professional the representative was. I also recently had a fantastic experience at another branch in New Orleans. I guess there are bad apples in every company. While I am still not a fan of taking money of customer's sight, I think the remedial effort was applaudable.
