As stated in previous reviews, I've been a Michael Mina fan since the beginning in SF. Bourbon Steak is one of his newer establishments, bankrolled by Agassi, and specializes in more American style dishes than his signature "trio" style of preparation.
We had fois gras sliders, Mina's signature tuna tare tar, and plenty of steak (poached in butter, then grilled to perfection). Sides were truffled mac and cheese, asparagus and white cheddar potatoes. All very good, but not outstanding.
What was outstanding was the 18yr old Macallan butterscotch sauce for the beignets. No joke... serve that stuff on a woman. Forget the beignets... just give me that butterscotch and some privacy with a lady. That alone is 6 stars. All you haters out there are just upset you didn't think of that first. And yes... my "to go" bag had plenty of butterscotch.
