So here's the deal. I'm a road cyclist. I bike a lot and have ridden a few 100+ mile rides. I don't say that to brag, but so that you'll understand the significance of my next statement.
This class kicked. my. butt.
I have not sweated that much in a long time. For whatever reason, this was my first ever spinning class. That absolutely needs to change. As a road cyclist I feel like this class worked on the things I don't usually do during a ride- standing and riding, and the very high and low cadences. Not to mention, arms!
The amenities here were great. Staff was as helpful as could be and the cold towels after class were the most refreshing thing ever. The equipment was top notch. I used my own shoes with the SPD pedals but my friend said the shoes that were provided were good. As the pickiest cyclist ever, I was happy with all of the adjustment points on the bikes and was able to make it fit me without too much trouble. I wore my usual padded cycling shorts and the saddle was manageable.
The workout itself was killer! My gearing was a bit different than what they suggested- I tended to need to go up 3-4 gears in order to stand and pedal, but I expected that. The entire workout was intense and I'd definitely mix it into my usual routine.
