not sure what I was expecting as I had never been to a beauty school before. The place is spotlessly clean and light and modern. Okay that's great, but even better was the way I was treated.
My stylist was Beth, (who will be graduating in a couple of months). We had discussed briefly what I thought I wanted, but when I arrived I was treated to a full half an hour consultation with stylist Beth and Miss Elaine, who oversees the students. We discussed my wants, looked at photos of me from the past and assessed what I wanted for color and style. It was inclusive, I wasn't being talked "at" I was being asked what I wanted and they were helping me narrow down what was doable and what might not work as well today as it did in the past.
I am a cancer survivor and they understood me, what it was like to lose all my hair and why I don't get it cut as often as I should. (When you've seen yourself bald, and then get hair again, it's kind of hard to cut it) Elaine asked me if I was still on medications before they made a final decision about color (I'm not so we went ahead)
I arrived with 12 inches of grey hair which was in desperate need of some attention. I left with a short stylish bob in a beautiful medium brown. Beth did an amazing job with the cut and color and Miss Elaine stepped in to check things out as well and make a couple of snips here and there. I haven't felt pretty in a very long time. I felt beautiful when I left. I'm still getting compliments on my new look. For the whopping price of $34.00.
Anyone who hasn't tried this place out, should certainly do so. I know I'll be going back..
