  • Full disclosure, I use to work here in like 89-90? I learned from that experience that Surplus is the best spot for quality gear. I no longer do much camping and such, but it's my go to spot for winter readiness, socks, gloves, hats, face masks and the like. It would be nice to hear Ira's voice, but his daughter and son in law seem to be keeping up the tradition of awesomeness. I'm a person of color, and my last few visits to the shop were void of any suspicious following around. This is great, as it sure use to be a common knock on the shop. Funny note- I'm currently wearing a pair of long johns that I bought back in the early 90's. Quality it tell ya!
