Stopped by last for dinner while on a biz trip to Phoenix. Had a beer and the Shepard's Pie as described on the menu. On the menu the shepherds pie was listed at $10.99 along with a full description: marinated lean ground beef, mashed potatoes, Sharp cheddar and gravy on request. Pretty simple one would think. When the bill came I noticed that the shepherds pie was charged at $12. So I asked the waitress. Her response was "well you ordered cheese and gravy and that's a dollar extra". I asked to see the menu again and pointed out that on the menu it's shows that this is part of the dish and says nothing about cheese and gravy being extra. In essence it was part of the meal. She wouldn't budge I asked to see the manager. After about 10 minutes of hearing "we can't find the manager" or "the managers not here." A guy comes up and says "can I help you?" I explain the entire situation one more time. He pulls the menu out, reads it, and then states "no cheese and gravy or extra it says it right here." I asked him to please show me where on the menu it said it. He looks at it again thinking, furling his eyebrow and says well !I guess I can see how somebody would get that confused." Clearly the menu did not state that. Unlike the cheeseburger where it clearly states cheese extra onions are extra. I commented that his menu was misleading and he's taking advantage of people. He reached in his pocket, Took out a dollar and slammed it on the table. He walked away no apology no "thank you for your business."
I would suggest if you're not familiar with this business or it's business practices, you watch your bill very carefully. the food wasn't bad, the service was so-so, but the management stinks!
