| - I'm obsessed with Dr. Medchill. It that weird? There are a lot of OK Doctors out there, especially OBGYNs. Before Dr. Medchill, I never understood what having an amazing doctor was like, but now I know it's completely worth the time to find someone you feel comfortable with, especially is that going through the trouble of switching doctors.
I choose Dr. Medchill after I left another OBGYN's office because, long story short, I just wasn't feeling them. I was pregnant with my first child and suffice to say, nervous about EVERYTHING. Dr. Medchill couldn't have been more amazing with us anxious to be parents. Never did I feel rushed during any of my appointments - In fact, most of my appointment were 40+ minutes - Extremely rare for any doctor. Now, the only bit of criticism I have was that because he spends so much time with his patients, wait times in the office were extremely long, but this is because of the many future parents like yours truly who have hundreds of questions.
Another thing I learned is that another sign of a great doctor is office staff who are on the ball. As the adage goes, you're only as good as the company you keep, right? Any time I needed them to fax something to my insurance or the specialist I was seeing, it was done within hours. Their promptness was such a relief.
Now fast forward to delivery day. I was told by so many friends the most OBs pretty much come at the very end to catch the baby and the labor and delivery nurses do most of the work. Well, not Dr. Medchill. He was there with me for HOURS. My family even commented on how impressed they were with how involved and supportive he was. Now you don't know this until you have a baby, but it's also often rare that your Doctor will be the one to deliver your baby as they take shifts with other physicians in their office, but Dr. Medchill was so hands on with us I felt completely confident he was going to be there to deliver the baby. I'm so, so grateful to him and his staff for a perfect, healthy outcome.
