Went to Coras on the Queensday this morning for my "Anniversary breakfast" with my hubby. We have never been to this Coras previously, I've heard good things about it so decided to give it a try, since it seemed nicer than your average greasy spoon.
The restaurant itself is large and bright. The waitress was a "low talker" and seemed very shy and introverted. Our breakfast came fairly quickly, it didn't look quite as good as the pictures in the menu but we were hungry and chowed down.
It wasn't a horrible breakfast nor was it near the best I've ever had either. The bacon was INCREDIBLY thin and paper like, I really didn't like that part at all. The rest of the meal was good, the potatoes were tasty. The cutlery that they used was the cheapest I have ever seen, think a step down from a dollar store type. The waitress did not come back and ask if everything was ok or to refill our coffees until we were done our meal. The portions are a large size so we didn't leave hungry, but we weren't "satisfied"
Overall it was just "meh"...... probably won't be back for a $35 breakfast (for two), when I can get one for half that right across the street......
