It was a cold Thursday night and these guys were craving halo-halo. I had no desire driving to Maryland Parkway and thought let's meet inbetween. Bambu has been bookmarked forever and I was very excited to be able to take it off my list of bookmarks. And...that's about all the excitement I had for this place.
We enter and it is dead. Well, there was a girl doing the sitting but laying on the couch while on the phone. I couldn't help but to think, sit up. Anyway, we stood around for a minute as there was no one around to greet us and no one at the register until...oh snap, girl on the couch sat up, got off her phone, and all of a sudden she is now our cashier. Who also happens to sound sick. ::crickets::
Customer service. 1 star! 3 stars because I find such desserts 50/50. It's either for you or it's not. I wouldn't tell someone not to give these desserts a try because if you don't try it...you won't know if it's for you or not. For me, it's a not! Don't know if the lousy impression bittered my taste buds.
We ordered the bambu special and the bambu favorite. It looked exciting but my husband felt bambuzooled. Lol. I think it just wasnt our kind of treat. There was so much going on in it that i didnt really enjoy the whole package. I knew in other circumstances id enjoy each ingredient but not in this way. The bambu favorite was more to our liking than the special. The special is supposed to have coconut but my husband didnt see coconut nor could i taste coconut.
Anyway, bottom line...it is an aquired taste. Very interesting treat to try and id probably go back to just have a do over. But not anytime soon. If you are looking for something unique, highly recommend! Just to be clear the dessert is not awful. Just sometike getting used to. The customer service, though....
Enjoy!
