  • I am by no means a big sports fan, but the energy in this place converts me every time. It is the home of UNCC Basketball, and the school turns out to make every game exciting. The team has been improving steadily for several years, and is the primary (only?) focus of school pride. Nothing makes a game more fun than an excited crowd. The basketball itself is of reasonable quality. The team has been ranked a few times during the year, and upset some top-ranked teams. You won't feel like you are watching a second-rate team. Speaking of second-rate, these games are a thousand times better than the Bobcats' if for no other reason than the crowd actually cares. Besides the game, the venue itself is pretty impressive. It can't be more than a few years old and is very well designed. Enormous bathrooms, ample food/drink service, and big wide lanes for people to enter/exit the arena. The place is build for crowds, and handles them admirably. And parking is free.
