| - I'm not even sure where to start with this one...
We bought a house very recently which has a pool. Before agreeing to the terms of the house we asked that a few very minor things be fixed with the pool, including replacing the pool light. The sellers decided to use Arizona Quality Pool Service and Repair to address the issues. They sent the completed invoices to my realtor and all was well and good, or so we thought.
The day after we moved into the house, I noticed the pool light fixture floating in the pool, but still attached to the pool light hole by a thick rubber cable(picture attached). I figured, obviously incorrectly, I could contact Arizona Quality Pool Service and Repair and they would come back out and stick it back in the hole correctly, boy was I wrong.
I first sent them an email with the invoice attached explaining the situation and then called in order to get the situation sorted. From the moment I first spoke with Rick I knew I had made a mistake. The first few words out of his mouth were to insult my understanding of a light fixture and to "explain" to me the reasons he wouldn't fix it. I've heard excuses before, but these weren't even good ones. Everything from "that's not what I was paid for" to "you just want something for free, and even "one of your kids probably knocked it out." I even asked him how much it would cost for him to just come fix it, and he exclaimed that because of my attitude he wouldn't even do that...Needless to say we ended up in a full-on argument over the phone, which is just sad and ridiculous. I should have ended the call there but this "professional" needed to know how petty he was acting.
His final attempt to try and "help" me was to tell me that he would walk me through getting in the pool and "wedging" it back in myself over the phone...in the pool...makes sense. After I realized this guy was just plain ridiculous I called him a few choice words and he hung up. But even then he had the nerve to send me an email 10 mins after he hung up, again telling me he could walk me through doing it over the phone.
Here's the email:
"We can help you put your pool light back into the socket over the phone if you would like. Your pool light housing was damaged before you moved into your house. The threaded nipple was broken off so the screw will not hold the pool light in. They had put in a light wedge that is suppose to hold the pool light in. If the pool light has come out what needs to happen is that the pool light wedge needs to be put back on and secured to hold the pool light in place.
We were only hired to replace the pool light bulb and gasket, not repair the light fixture housing.

Yeah okay Rick, I get you weren't "paid" to replace the fixture housing, and I never asked you to replace it, I just didn't want it floating around in my pool.
In the end, I had another company come out and fix the mistake. In fact the guy who repaired it showed me how Rick had incorrectly "wedged" the light back in the hole and showed me how it should have been installed properly. He allowed me to pull on it as hard as I wanted to show me it would stay. I was so satisfied that I have plans to commission them to re-plaster the entire pool.
If you've read this entire review you are either the owner of this company or you really want to know whether or not to let these guys come to your house and work on your pool. If you're the latter, I hope you don't have any issues after the initial visit, or you'll be in for a tasty treat.
