| - I decided to try this salon because it was new. I have liked my two stylists Ashley and Jackie. Both have been great. I don't want this review to reflect badly on them.
Brought my daughter here for rose gold and balayage touch up. Spent $200, and this was without a cut. Rose gold which actually looked more like red/orange washed out in one week, and she only washed her hair with shampoo from the salon and only washes her hair 1-2 times per week. When I called I was told typically it's 4 weeks....That would be worth mentioning ahead of time to any client so they can make an informed decision. Additionally she did not touch up a complete section of her hair.
However, I called the salon to give it a chance to be fixed assuming that most businesses strive for good customer service....I assumed incorrectly.
The original stylist was on vacation and would not be available until about two weeks later. Since we work during the week and would also be going on vacation, I did ask for a another stylist to atleast look at it. This was refused multiple times, with some explanation about the financial aspect. Honestly I should not have to worry about that part of it as the customer and really expected the owner to step up and help in this situation. I did ask to speak to the owner or manager and was told "she doesn't give out her information." I wasn't asking for her personal cell....I just wanted to speak to her. She did end up calling me but was again, pretty unhelpful. She did try to arrange an earlier time for us to be seen. We were told again though that the stylist was unable to accommodate that. So at this point I asked for a refund for the red color that was applied, not for the entire service. That request was ignored, not even addressed, and the suddenly the stylist was available....Which at this point, we were not because we were originally told she was unavailable.
We finally returned and just asked that her hair be toned and that the underneath be touched up as she missed this portion of her hair completely. I also mentioned this directly to the stylist in the phone. We were then told that "she didn't have time to do that." I'm not sure why we're scheduled to return if she didn't allow for the proper amount of time to deal with our needs. So basically we returned for her to tone the hair and the she wanted us to return another time to fix what was requested at the initial appointment and over the phone to fix it.
This was also after multiple messages and phone tag. The owner was so reluctant to even speak to me, you would think being the own t of the business she would be more friendly and helpful.
We will be returning to Gemini of Chicago across the way where they highly value costumer service and have fantastic stylists. I know we would have never been treated that way at Gemini. I have never had such an issue.
After reading another review with another unhappy customer, I find it amazing how quickly Candy dismisses a customer with an issue advising them to find another salon. Over time this will hurt your business. You do have good staff so it's unfortunate.
You did not only lose one customer, you lost several today as I do have a large family of women and girls, and will lose more over time with his attitude.
I wish I could have just been partially refunded so we could have had this fixed properly elsewhere.
