I have been shopping for a good glass company for one year to do a front and back windshield on my classic BMW.
Most shops in Maricopa County I contacted (including some large outfits like Best Glass, safelite, gerber...) were either not interested or over $500 bucks. In many cases I got a cheap online quote only to get it doubled when trying to schedule the work because "there is liability in working on an older vehicle": Funny cause I specificaaly mentioned the year and model in order to get the online quote.... whatever.
I was considering spending a fortune on my glass (after all, I coudn't wait for ever to be able to drive my windshield-free car! when I looked up Glas Tek, or rather their Phoenix / Scottsdale entity website called differently (kinda confusing...).
Ultimately they came in at under $300 for the whole job (note: including only $50 bucks labor to replace the back glass), and performed absolutely flawlessly. Their Tech showed up on time at my mechanic's shop (twice since they were missing a part I was supposed to provide) and work was first class!
My mechanic, who witnessed the work being done stated that the tech exhibited a great deal of expererience, in fact so much so, that the shop (ie the Toy Box, review coming soon) is considering using GT for future hig end classic car restoration... He was sold!
Also GT's office lady Velarie, was easy to communicate with and allowed for an easy and smooth over the phone payment. I coudn't be happier.
