| - I came to Brett as an advanced drummer. He was actually the second guy I visited in the valley. Whereas the first guy didn't challenge me in the least, Brett dumped a ton of new material and styles for me to learn on the very first day. I had asked him to do that, so it wasn't overwhelming. It was very welcome! As a rock and prog rock guy, I told him I wanted to expand my repertoire to Latin and Jazz, so he got me started from day one on Sambas, Songos, 3:2 and 2:3 claves, intermediate jazz sticking patterns, and some excellent variations of 6-stroke rolls that I'd heard from other drummers and always said to myself, "Man, that sounds awesome, how did he do that?". Thanks to Brett, now I know.
Most importantly, I told Brett that I needed to learn to read drum music. In just a few weeks he's given me a book's worth of material that I'm soaking up and can now sight read. I'm elated to study with Brett.
Brett's prices are not stupid cheap, but for what you learn, it's a steal, full stop. I'd honestly pay more for what I've learned.
TL;DR: Brett is super friendly, has an enormous amount to teach drummers in every style and of every ability, and the price can't be beat (no pun intended).
