  • I was with Massage Envy for over 10 years....going to several different locations and the only thing that HAS been consistent is the lack of care at the moon valley location. When I wrote a yelp review several years ago for this same location I had left several messages as no one ever answers their phones on a consistent basis..one time in particular when I did call I let them know I was in so much pain and I needed a return call as soon as possible....I was hoping to have someone there return my calls...but no one did. (The excuses I got when I finally got a hold of this location was they didn't get my messages...three of them?!) we lived in the area for a couple years that was why I was going to this location. All the "great therapists were leaving" and I got a real earful from some of the employees when I asked why there was so much turnover...comments were "the owners don't care" (the owner responded to my review after the fact asking why I didn't follow up with them....problem was I did and they never followed up either...I am fed up with this particular location. Not only do the employees have turnover, but the management staff does as well and that was another excuse I received when I asked to speak with a manager...they were in transition....they are always in a state of turmoil. Fast forward...we moved to Peoria and because I had signed up at this location (moon valley) my paperwork was there....the lake pleasant location and employees that I relocated to were fabulous (and only left because the therapist that I really liked was always booked and impossible to get into) but experience there was an A+ all the way. I had to cancel my membership at the moon valley location, so instead of doing it via email, I drove 45 minutes to ensure it was done properly, I was told by the employee no funds would be taken out I was on a month to month lease and signed everything. I said make sure no funds are taken out as this account is being closed, not only did they take another month of dues out, but they told me I signed a year contract which is not what I was told when I signed up there....a total outright lie. I again left three messages between two days sounds exactly what happened a few years ago and NO ONE ever called me back....today I called again after waiting on hold for 12 minutes for the manager we spoke for 35 minutes and he informed me I had no more massages left yet two days prior they pulled that last dues out that I was told was NOT going to happen. In the meanwhile Chloe the fabulous employee at lake pleasant was trying to assist me in contacting them and she too left several messages and was unable to reach them or have them return her calls. (Finally the manager from Lake Pleasant contacted the manager from the moon valley location and instead of putting me through anything more she just scheduled me for my final massage and handled things) although the manager at moon valley appeared to be pleasant, I felt talked down to and didn't feel like he really understood what was going on and why I was so upset and frustrated..he kept saying we just have to move forward...well yes I agree but as a manager it would have been nice to say I am sorry no one returned any of your three calls (just like several years ago) they take NO responsibility for their actions or lack of. I now understand all the negative reviews. This company DOESNT care about their guests/customers. Some of the other locations were great but the turnover was horrendous as soon as I found a great therapist...they were gone. Several employees told me massage envy is a stepping stone and I quote they don't treat them well at all...if the manager doesn't like you or isn't a friend, you will have a terrible time being an employee. A company only has turnover because of management issues in my opinion and lack of care and direction. (this starts at the top (the owners) and normally speaking the managers hire staff like themselves, this is very accurate at this location. If there was a great employee she was short lived, wouldn't be there the next time, I now know why. Even when I went in to cancel things, the employee that only works part time when I explained my frustration she totally confirmed everything I said and informed me I was totally right on with why I was so frustrated and confirmed it was not a good environment to be in. Please check out elements where they truly care about their customers and when you ask how long their employees have been there you will see why they have literally no turnover, happy employees make for a happy experience. The aggregation and stress I have had to deal with at this location is truly inexcusable especially when the idea behind massage is suppose to be healing and stress free. (I find it very interesting that the ONLY time management or owners respond is on yelp reviews when they are trying make excuses for the negative reviews...why wait till it has to get to this, point?)
