I started at Foothills 4 weeks ago with a bulging disc in my lower back and debilitating neuropathic pain radiating down my leg. In short, I have experienced a 75% improvement as a result of the care received at Foothills. All the PT in the world won't make a bulging disc go away. The sins of my youth are revisiting me.
To comment on the experiences of others, yes, your exercises are generally self-directed ONCE you show you are able to perform them properly. But if your form gets sloppy or you're doing the exercise incorrect, one of the many techs immediately offer advice up to and including demonstrating the routine again. I found all the therapists, techs and office folks to be very engaging, helpful and friendly.
Let's face it, PT generally sucks since you're there because you're hurt or need to rehab. How well you do and how good your experience is will depend on how hard you're willing to work at getting better.
I will only recommend Foothills for physical therapy. Doug and his staff are the very best.
