Very annoyed as I'm writing this review and the incident took place about a month ago. I need an oil change and tire rotation. My old, reliable car repair place has gone out of business so based on the reviews I thought I'd give CARs a try. I called to book an appointment for said repairs. I was told by the person who answered the phone that I didn't need an appointment and to quote "come early." He spoke with authority. I thought it odd, but oh well, that's what he told me, twice. I showed up at 9am the following day and that's when things went down hill. There was no one in the waiting room. One of the shop guys came in and asked me if I had an appointment. I said no, I was advised I didn't need one. He proceeded to talk to me as if I'm an idiot, you know that condescending way that mechanics have when they talk to a 'little lady.' Per the mechanic they never take any cars w/o appointments unless it's a state inspection. Whatever dude. I walked out, pissed as heck. My biggest beef besides the inconvenience obviously, is the fact that there was just something 'off' about how I was treated by the mechanic. I was clearly out of place - and I am not one to play the race card, but I feel as if that impacted how I was treated at CARS. Why else would the story change so drastically based on my phone call and then seeing me in person. Yeah, they can keep their hillbilly services and souped up pick up trucks. I'll go elsewhere. Oh and the waiting room is a pitt and screams of good ole' southern boy charm. Not my thing.
