  • After driving and researching multiple trucks, I decided that the Tundra was my absolute #1 choice. I went back and forth via email and voicemail with Ken Baker attempting to reach my "dream" number of 31k out the door, providing my trade info etc. Ken left me a voicemail saying that he had crunched the numbers and that they could get the price of the truck down to 31k, giving me 24k for my trade coming to an out the door price of just over 35k. I sent him an email confirming I received his voicemail about the 35k and was considering it, asking if GAP could be included in that total. He said that I would have to come in (of course). I showed up at 8 last night drive and buy. I had my blank check capital one approval packet in hand ready to do the deal. Jordan ended up helping me because Ken was busy. When we started talking about financing I explained I didnt need it ...As I had already told him I had my own and showed him my blank check packet. I handed him the dealer instructions to take to the sales manager, he came back with a credit app to fill out. I am like seriously? I DO NOT NEED FINANCING. He insisted that I had a "mailer" from cap one and that it was not approved financing with a guaranteed interest rate. This immediately pissed me off, because I am not a freaking idiot. It is insulting that you would insist that I was dumb enough to walk in with some junk mail thinking it was actual loan approval. We got past that annoyance and he showed me an offer of 18k for my trade. I explained that Ken left me a voicemail offering 24k for my trade and an out the door number which is why I was there: to buy at the price left on my voicemail. He proceeds to pull up Kens message on the computer because all of their calls are recorded, and I listened with him to Ken stating everything I had just explained...the 31k for the truck, 24k for my trade and out the door price of 35k. He claimed he would take the 24k after listening to the call, then went in to the back for several minutes and when he returned looked up the value of my trade online pointing out its value and going in to this sales pitch about how I am drowing in my vehicle and that I will be hitting my max approval limit blah blah. At that point, I was so frustrated with the BS and so tired of listening to all the garbage (I dont know why I believed a car dealer was going to do honest business with me) that I seriously broke down in tears in front of Jordan. I just felt exhausted and absolutely defeated. What a humiliating and terrible experience. I have been to multiple dealerships over the past week getting numbers etc and was seriously lead to believe that I would be driving home in a new Tundra from Larry H Miller because I "knew" the numbers going in. I really dont know how these people sleep at night. I work my ass off to provide for my family and kids, am a genuine and honest person, and buying a vehicle in this price range is a huge deal for me. I certainly did not deserve the experience I received at Larry H Miller Toyota. As I was leaving Jordan told me to give him a day to work on it. I'm w-a-i-t-i-n-g.........and god help me if someone from the dealership puts one of those generic robot comments on this post apologizing for my experience. Ridiculous.
