I decided to bump my review to 5 stars from 4. Caribbean food is an acquired taste and Hot Pot does it right. The taste is so nuanced and there is a lot of flavors going on that it can be overwhelming to distinguish what is happening. Their rice and peas (kidney beans and rice) are the best in the valley. They have the right portions of beans to rice, and it has the right amount of cook time. The meats they prepare are all cooked to perfection and are fall-off-the-bone tender. A few of the chicken dishes come with potatoes and fresh thyme which helps to give it a kick and authentic island taste. If you like plantains then you will love them here: generous portion size of them and they are so sweet it should be illegal. The staff is friendly and welcoming, the space is colorful, and the food is amazing: what else could you ask for?
OG Review: If you want Caribbean food this is the place. The curry is rich and usually comes with fresh thyme. The plantains are done to perfection and the sides are all delicious.
