I don't know if it was the fact that I stumbled in here after a battle with the morning sun and my less than accommodating hangover on a Saturday morning or it was my very picky coffee taste buds making a comeback but Kawa's coffee was definitely less than I was expecting. The atmosphere is open if slightly tattered but nothing to write home about. The young lady miraculously heard my mumbled "coffee, immediately" and asked (with a forgiving lower pitch) what kind of roast I preferred which put me straight at ease with familiar questions.
I do not doubt they know their espresso and such and I will definitely give it another go but the coffee literally made my mouth pinch and my whole body contort in revulsion. I was eager to get the hell out so I tried as gracefully to lunge out of the side door and slither back to my cave of comfort. Unfortunately I have a very sensitive taste memory so it will be a few weeks before I try it again, this time in a more forgiving mood. I only say this because there are other places that have cured a multitude of attitudes for me with atmosphere, their coffee and general awesomeness and Kawa's coffee only made my morning after a more difficult battle.
