I had the most horrible experience with Chris. I bought a Groupon for a custom spray tan before going to Hawaii. I was excited to use Designer Shades because a few of my friends and colleagues had gone there and loved it. Also the reviews on here were amazing.
I bought a Groupon on a Wednesday ( one week before my trip.) It was a "Groupon Now" scheduled for the following Tuesday between 12pm and 5pm. The directions stated to "Call for appointment." I saw Chris' email on the website and sent her a message asking if there was any way I could schedule for 5 or between 5-6, but explained that if not I would be happy to switch around my work schedule. I got no response so two days later on Friday I tried to call. When I called the machine had not been updated and stated they were closed on Tuesday for New Years Day. I sent Chris a follow up email stating that the VM needed to be updated, and asking for a response to my previous email. I also explained that I tried booking online to make it easier but there was no option to book an appointment for a Groupon. They wanted my CC number to pay all over again! I also explained the urgency of getting an appointment because I had a flight in just 5 days.
She did respond to this email, but with no help. She explained to me that I would need to make the appointment between 12-5 (which was fine, I suspected but just thought I would try) and then told me to book online and schedule like a normal appointment. I then replied explaining all over again that I didn't want to do that because the website wanted to charge me all over again, I asked her to please call me or let me know when a good time to call would be. I received no response or phone call. I called Saturday and got VM again.
On Monday I called and they were closed. I left a voice mail asking for a call back assuming I would get one Tuesday morning ( THE DAY I WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE AN APPT!!) Well I didn't receive a response and I tried calling again on Tuesday morning and yet again, no answer - 3 times! I sent her an email explaining my frustration at the total lack of communication on her part. She emailed me back explaining that they were busy with Miss Arizona, and apologized for MY FRUSTRATION. She proceeded to tell me that the Groupon would refund after it expired today at 5. How inconsiderate. If anything she should be apologizing for her own lack of customer service and efficiency.
Also how does this help me? I have a morning flight tomorrow! Needless to say I would NEVER tell anyone I know to use Designer Shades, or ever try using them again. A simple email accepting responsibility and apologizing for her actions could have saved a potential return customer. Its all about customer service, and I received none!
