| - I think I might have figured out the secret to Heinen's: go only when a) you are truly just "browsing" for some fun stuff, or b) you have a specific recipe in mind with less than 10 things that you have to actually buy.
In other words, this is a nice, clean, healthy-ish supermarket with nice produce, cheeses, meats, and specialty items. So, don't go there when you're super hungry because you might leave with tons more than you expected! Don't go when you have no food left in your kitchen, otherwise you will be annoyed at how much money you spent. And certainly don't go at a peak time.
One thing that makes this grocery store stand out among many others for me is how nice their checkout people are, as well as the people who watch your stuff and help load it into your car.
The "ONE WAY ONLY!" parking lot is a little strange, but I find if you just park in the farthest possible spot away from the store, you can avoid bad drivers and potential fender-benders. As well as pretentious shoppers who think "Right of Way" means "I go first, you wait for me."
