  • A north-central Phoenix institution. Welcome back, Karl's! If you are looking for a good, REAL bakery, this is it. Nothing comes close. I came by for their soft opening today and was instantly greeted by a feeling of warmth and comfort. Oh how I've missed this place since they moved from their old location. The employees seemed so happy to be open and everyone is extremely friendly and helpful here. They take credit cards now, which I don't remember them doing before. Nice improvement. I'm also so pleased with the decorating in the new location. The walls match the pink boxes that delicious treats come home in. Sunshine brightens the whole interior through the large windows. Some seating is out front for folks to enjoy some coffee and a donut, too. Everything here is delicious- you can't go wrong with anything you order. Karls has the best donuts in town, hands down. Tell me where else you can find a boston cream donut that doesn't have a cheapo filler. These babies are made from scratch- everything from the dough to the cream to the chocolate on top. Everything they make is from scratch, and you can taste every morsel of homemade goodness. Cookies, macaroons and fruit tartes are to die for here. I feel so thankful to have this lovely bakery so close by. It opened just in time for my husband to fetch all of my pregnancy cravings. Yayyyy!! And the price is right here, so lucky him. What a Sunnyslope treat!
