  • This place is overpriced and overrated. It's a three Michelin start restaurant, so going there, my expectations were high. Considering I've been to other michelin-rated restaurants before, I expected this one to be at least at the same level. And since they advertise that Joel Robuchon is a chef of the century and has more Michelin stars than any other chef in the world, I expected this place to be out of this world. So, what's the reality? Let's start with good stuff. The place looks nice. The bread cart is awesome. Deserts are very good. That's about it. You pay $500 for bread and chocolate. Now the bad. I got a 5 course pre-fix menu. I was there for 3.5 hours. Of course I was hungry all that time so I kept on eating bread. Maybe that's why I appreciated it so much. It took 90 min for us to get our first course. It was okay. Not bad. Just okay. Looked sort of nice, but wasn't exciting. The overall menu wasn't exciting in general. Other Michelin-rated chefs invent new things you can't imagine, like caesar salad ice cream with snail caviar. This place had ravioli with lobster meat. I can name 10 other places from the top of my head that have this. The bathroom was dirty. While they would be quick to remove an empty plate after each course, they never removed by little bread plate, which sat there dirty for a long time with bread crumbs being all over the table. My wine list was missing a page with wine by the glass. When I finally got a replacement menu, I got a sticker shock. I understand high end restaurants, but $49 for a glass of less than average wine? Why? And why would a restaurant with a world class wine list offer cabernets by the glass if they are younger than 10 years old? This shouldn't even be an option. Every self-respecting sommelier will tell you that it's not even wine at this age. Of course I couldn't select any wines by the glass because the selection looked terrible so I got the most expensive one hoping it'd be good. It was below average. The sommelier asked me how it was. I told him I didn't like it. He didn't answer anything and walked away. Feeling desperate to drink something, I called him again and asked him to see the cocktail list. He brought me the menu, opened the page with whiskies and proceeded to sell me on his whiskey selection, not saying a word about cocktails. I turned to the cocktail page myself and got upset there again. A place like this should at least be somewhat inventive about cocktails. These cocktails were simple, made with basic ingredients. It looked like something you would get at a cheap bar. Even TGI Friday's has a better cocktail selection. To make things fun for us, our waiter completely disappeared from our lives somewhere after our second course. I saw him walking around but he never came to our table again. We waited for him to bring us our check and he never showed up. So we caught a busser and asked him for a check, which he gladly brought us. When the check arrived, it was a lot more than I expected. Why? Because they have additional surcharges for items you select on the pre-fix menu. The menu I selected was $250. I asked the waiter for recommendations. He took the menu from me and told me about his favorite choice. I followed his recommendation, not knowing that what he was recommending would cost extra. At the end I paid $500. I think the food I got was worth $100 at most based on quality. That doesn't sound like a three star restaurant to me. In fact, I don't believe it truly is. If you go to Michelin's web site and search, it doesn't show up in search results. You can even select Las Vegas as a city and get a message from Michelin that there are no Michelin-rated restaurants in Vegas. Why? Because Joel Robuchon received these starts over 10 years ago. Aren't you supposed to get them again and again every year? Bottom line: overpriced and overrated.
