I agree with Elsie (below). It seems we probably are not the "Alligator Soup's" kind of people. They are friendly with those whom they like, and not so much with those they deem "beneath" them. I had a similar experience of unjustified rudeness when I visited there this afternoon with my husband. We wanted to purchase business cards for our new business, and approached a Jabba-the-Hut looking woman sitting at a table with a customer in the back. (She was one of two Jabba-the-Hut ladies, to be fair). She was waiting on someone so we waited patiently until she looked up and snarled, "What do you want?" We were taken aback, but did not get angry. We figured that was just her way. So we said, "We would like to order business cards." She looked at us with pure hatred (for no apparent reason) and said she "didn't have time" to do that. I must have looked at her with total shock because after a few moments, she said she could accommodate us if we made an "appointment" or came back in an hour. I asked if we could look at a sample book of business cards while we waited, but she barked that "they are not self-serve!" Gosh. It was embarrassing and stupid. She does not understand how a business is run. She may have plenty of customers now, but she just lost two, and the other business that my business could have brought her. What an idiot. We will never return. And the tchotckes crammed all over the store are tacky.
