I feel misled and lied to, when I met with the salesperson I specifically asked if the gym was busy in the mornings to which was I told it was not. What he failed to mention is they have a cardio clinic on Monday and Wednesday mornings (8AM - 12PM) which means the gym is packed and the treadmills are all in use. When I realized that the days I have set aside for the gym coincides with this clinic I decided to cancel my membership based on their 14 day comfort guarantee.
The fellow that I was speaking with, Tom - told me that I could cancel but there was no refund and showed me the "fine print". He did say I could use the gym until my time expires - he didn't know when I would have access until but said he would call and let me know. Well I waited and guess what, no call from Tom. So I tried calling and emailing the sales rep that I purchased the membership from but didn't get any response from him either.
Finally, today I went into the gym and asked them when I would have access until - I was told Oct. 1 - which is tomorrow. I signed up on the 23rd and paid a $35.00 facility fee plus a $30.00 "dues deposit" which covers 2 weeks fees. They gave me 7 days for my $65.00 and when I questioned the front desk staff, they said, I would have to speak to "Tom" ... HA! Shame on you guys for not giving your customers what they paid for.
The only reason I am giving them 2 stars is because I met a personal trainer named Bonnie who was extremely helpful and very good at what she does. If it wasn't for her I would have felt completely ripped off.
I am really disappointed by this whole experience and their lack of business ethics.
UPDATE: October 7/15 - Tom from World Health called today and offered to make things right with me. Obviously somebody over there does care about their customers, which I have to assume was Harley and made sure that I was treated fairly in the end. I am extremely pleased with their resolution to this issue so I have increased my rating to a 3 star as they earned it. Hopefully no other customer will have to go through this in the future.
THANKS World Health for making me feel valued after all!
