Where to start. I come from Miami Florida. I haven't been for a whole and miss Cuban food. I heard about this place from an Uber Driver who is Cuban himself and decided to try it.
Boy do I regret it. I will say the place is clean. And good atmosphere and service decent. The little things. Ask for desperate checks before we ordered. In English and in Spanish. I saw waitress desperate when wrote order down yet brought check and all was mixed. She said oh yeah I forgot. Yeah small I know.
Food ordered a tamale it tasted weird and was gooey not what a Cuban tamale should be like. Again I'm use to places in Miami. Rice and beans in one plate with plantains or yuca. And then mail protein on another plate. Well was disappointed here. I ordered Ropa Vieja (shredded beef) rice and beans and small bowl with beef on same plate. The beef bowl would be considered a cup of soup in most places. A side of yuca was bigger. Now as I said in Miami all would be a meal and just looked it up in nice classy Miami Cuban restaurant 10.50 for ropa Vieja and 2.50 for soda.
This place? Ropa Vieja 14.00 side yuca 5.00 soda 3.00 $22 plus tax plus tip. So cost way more for way less.
All that equals thanks but never again.... Sad and the search continues for decent Cuban food
