| - This was a lot more fun and interesting that I thought it would be. The Area 51 exhibit is fascinating, and focuses on the science and the credible witnesses, not just the wild stories. The museum itself is focused on the Cold War, and tries to give a real sense of what it was like to be working on these projects at the time. The theater where you get to "experience" an actual test is not to be missed.
It takes at least 3 hours to go through, but unlike larger museums, you don't feel like you missed a lot of stuff afterwards, you feel like you got to see everything.
Not a lot of interactivity, so not as good for little kids, or kids who don't like to read. Lots of parking. Easy to get to. As of last year, it is now part of the Smithsonian, so watch for holiday closings. Check for Groupons/Living Social -- we got a better than 2 for 1, which was perfect.
