  • Easily the worst company I've ever done business with...regardless of the type of business. I believe at a minimum, they are dishonest, incompetent and care nothing for their customers. That's obvious from all the terrible reviews. I have a 3 year old house that they installed the system. I just moved in here in July of 2016. First, during the inspection, we found the kitchen didn't have a vent. When the inspector went into the attic, he found the flex duct was laying on the attic floor not connected to anything, simply cooling the attic! So, they had to hire someone to cut in a vent and connect the duct. After a few weeks of living here, our smaller AC unit stopped cooling. I went out to check and the suction line was frozen all the way to the compressor. Not knowing who installed the system, I called another company. They came out and said the TXV was shot and gave me a quote of just over $1,000 for the part and labor. I told him I wanted a second opinion. After going through all the home paperwork, I found Chas Roberts had installed the system so I called them. They sent out a tech (Aaron) and after being here for a while, he said there was a "workmanship issue" with a leak in the freon line by the air handler in the attic and that he'd come back and fix it. Then, my wife said, "what about the TXV"? He said, "oh, let me check that". So a tech needs to be told to actually check the AC system by a non-AC person? Of course, he came back and said it was bad. BUT, the part was covered by the warranty, right? Oh, but the labor was going to be $910!! He left, but my AC worked perfectly and was cooling that side of the house to 73 at night! I told him not to fix it, but at least fix the leak. So, enter the next tech (didn't get his name). He shows up yesterday and acted like he didn't know why he was there! I asked, "don't you have a work order or something that tells you what to do?" He ended up calling someone at the office and I even brought out the card of the Aaron that had been here last week and tried to show him the invoice I was emailed on my phone (he never once looked at it). After getting off the phone, he went up in the attic and was walking back and forth from the AC to the attic. When he was finally done, I asked specifically, "did you fix the leak? Is my AC working?" "I fixed the leak but your AC doesn't work....hmmmm, hmmm. Nope, you have no subcooling and no superheat". What??? So he leaves! I turn the AC on and it ran for 4 hours before I finally turned it off when it got my room from 81 to 80. I went out while it was running and the suction line and liquid line were about the same temperature. So, I have no AC and can't possibly trust these bumbling idiots to come back. So, I'm going to have to call yet another company and pay for everything to be fixed right. I'm sure my system has no freon now after the last guy was here. By the way, the guy who was here yesterday gave me NOTHING!!! Not a bill, not a list of what he did, absolutely nothing, so I have NO IDEA what he did. Even Aaron who came a week before never gave me anything. I had to call the office, complain, and then they emailed me a list of what they did. Please RUN, don't walk, away from Chas Roberts. They are terrible and could care less about their customers.
