  • I'm surprised I haven't reviewed Midnight diner yet because I come here a lot. I think I'm actually the duke, if that gives you an indication of how much I enjoy / frequent this place. So, let's get this out of the way. The food is 5-stars ... and by food I mean Chicken and Waffles ... and by Waffles I mean French Toast. I could literally eat their Chicken and French Toast for any meal of the day and I already have. I'm guessing their other menu items are delicious as well, but why mess up a good thing. I'm dinging them a star because it gets a little cray at night. You literally have to get pat down by an armed police office in order to pick up your take-out at 2am. I mean, I'll do it because once again the Chicken and French Toast is bomb, but yeah I don't like mine with a side of potential stabbing / drive-by. I will say that there's some pretty good people watching in the after-club hours. All shapes, colors, ethnicity, creed, organisms, and nations of ratchet. From the trap stars to the drunken southern bell that missing a shoe. Priceless entertainment ... All and all, Midnight is the quintessential diner and I urge anybody to give it a try if they're in Charlotte.
