I was in Pittsburgh recently for a work event and it should tell you something that our group went here for dinner two nights in a row!
This restaurant is great to work with if you have a private group dinner that you want to arrange. They can help you set up a pre-selected menu and offer suggestions to guide your menu choices. Plus, they don't require an exorbitant food and drink minimum like some of the other nearby restaurants do.
Most importantly, the food is delicious here and the service was very good as well. The memorable choices that stand out to me were the arancini appetizer ($10 for this one) which is fried risotta balls served with buffalo mozzarella and marinara. Our table was fighting for every bite of this appetizer.
I ordered the caprese salad for myself ($14) and the presentation of fresh tomatoes, delicious mozzarella, and basil were just what I needed after a few days of conference food. For my main course, I ordered the ricotta ravioli at $18 and it was delicious and I even had enough for leftovers the next day.
All their pastas are made in-house and they also have select gluten free pastas which delighted one of my colleagues who eats a restricted gluten free diet. The pasta dishes range in price from $16-36 and they also have a section primarily for 'carne' (meat) dishes.
This place has a nice relaxed atmosphere and is willing to accommodate you and your group as best they can. I approve.
