Exterior more interesting than Interiors - I enjoyed wandering the exterior & taking photos of the amazing creations melded together from the refuse the builder used (including rejected bricks from Taliesen West).
While the stories told about the various building interiors were interesting & quite a bit stuck in my head - (skeletal remains of saguaro cactus are wood!) - standing in interiors where everything is dirty, dusty and littered with kitschy painted rocks is not my thing.
I'd done some research on my own before taking the tour - a lot of the more interesting details were not discussed by the guide - that was disappointing. However, the admission is cheap at $10/person & the pictures I took are quite fascinating.
As a quilter - there's lots of cool inspiration viewing the mortared bricks, glass works and river rock serpents. Going in late November also meant there were few people touring when we did - a benefit.
