| - We insured with Traci at Sed Poche's State Farm office and for the first term it was okay. Then, in the renewal, my son dropped off the insurance. He had been in their system for the first term, but inexplicably disappeared - the renewal cards and papers included only me, my husband and daughter. I called the office, but, of course, it was closed, so I got the call center who said, "That's strange" more times than you ever want to hear. For some unknown reason, my son wasn't on the renewal policy. But, they said, he's listed as in the household, so he's covered. I got nothing in the mail to confirm any of that. A couple of weeks later, my son bought a car, so I called Sed's office and told them that same day. They worked on that for me and came back with an increase of $20 a month for my son's car. I asked them, so he's insured right now? "Yes," they said. "He's good to go." My son goes to the DMV on a Saturday to register the car and they say we need evidence of your insurance, have them fax it over. I called, and of course, got the call center (because nobody has insurance issues on a Saturday and never needs anyone to be in the local office who are making money on your policy...) anyway, the call center said..... not only was my son NOT on the policy, neither was his car, and there was NO record of either phone call that I'd made, one to find out why he was left off, and two, to add the new car. So my son is at the DMV, in the line, getting closer to the front and I'm having to go all over my son's details and the car details AGAIN so this guy in the call center can add him. AND, he's been driving this car for two weeks and he wasn't insured!! This is a staggering lack of decent process and customer care that left us vulnerable and with no cover for my son or anyone he might have hit. So guess who's looking for a new insurance company now? ............................... Update!!! So the initial agent we spoke to this morning, who categorically told me he had faxed the form to the DMV, did not! So yet another long call to another State Farm agent and then a three way call with the DMV to get my son on his way. He was at the DMV at 7:30 and he's just got done at noon. Just the most appalling customer service of any company I've ever dealt with - ever. On this one, I'd give minus five stars if I could........................... Final Update - they sent my renewal and my monthly bill DOUBLED. From $355 to $669. Needless to say, we're back with Geico.
