| - Wow. This place is pure entertainment. For some reason thinking about this place makes me laugh. There's dancing, drinking, karaoke, and Filipino food here. This is the perfect place to be fobulous.
Dancing here is like a never ending Filipino wedding reception "open dancing" if you will. Complete with various line dancing and hits from 80s, 90s, and today. Whatever the DJ feels like will get the crowd dancing. Slight annoyance, cool it on the JLO. "Waiting for tonight" is not really danceable. It's funny watching the older generation do "watch me whip, watch me nae nae" ... So gangsta! Lol.
It is so loud in there you can barely have a conversation with someone across from you. I guess that really pushes you to do less talking and more action. Get your booty on that dance floor!
I can't recall a drink menu, but I would imagine they would have some fruity, island cocktails. Stick with the basics: whiskey/ginger ale and cranberry vodka. Kind of boring, but they can't really mess those up. Drink prices were okay.
Food. Everyone and their momma comes to Cafe Moda for the sisig. It's pretty good here. I don't normally order sisig at other places and I don't eat Filipino food outside of home, so no comparison. I can't say it's the best, but it is comfort food and definitely hits the spot when one is craving the sour, salty, spicy concoction of crunchy, chewy pig parts.
Not much to say about their karaoke, since I didn't participate. It was nice to hear some good voices up there though.
Service can be spotty, but I think it was hard to get the waitresses attention due to the loud noise. Otherwise food came out within a reasonable amount of time.
Late nights and hungry bellies either mean the usual rotation of Cafe Moda, pho, oxtail soup, or steak and eggs. Foreal though!
