| - Okay so Vegas is usually a destination for debauchery, drunkeness and poor judgment, right? (at least that was my MO back in my undergrad days). Well this visit was a little different. I went with my Bf and it was just the two of us. No cramped hotel room with 6 others, no having to find people when they're lost on the strip or acting a fool. So this was a nice change to say the least. We booked on Priceline express deals (which I'll say I'm pretty great at guessing which place they'll give you!) I guessed they would give us the Venetian, and voila I was right! We paid a great rate because the hotel name was "hidden."
Our stay was awesome. Venetian (and Palazzo) are one of the few remaining hotels that offer free self parking/valet. Huge benefit. Check in time is typically 3pm but we were in line around 11 am and had no problem checking in early (11:30ish by the time we reached the counter); also we didn't get charged for early check in. Don't be alarmed if you see a crazy check in line at the lobby; the line moves quickly! The woman who checked us in was nice and answered our questions about the pools and food options.
Location: so centrally located! Across the street from TI. Close to shopping. Free parking is a plus if you want to drive anywhere.
The room: it's beautiful and ornate! Very luxurious and clean. We didn't have a nice view but I could care less. The bathroom is so nice. Toilet is separate, there's both a bathtub and a shower (bathtub doesn't have jets so it's not a jacuzzi), and there's a little vanity seating area for any lady who wants to get ready sitting down. There's many mirrors and doing makeup/hair is nice with that seating available. We didn't get room service so I can't speak to that. Also, the mini fridge is already packed full. If you remove cans or items, there are sensors that will go off and likely charge you on your bill. The room is super spacious and has a sunken living room- feels like a really nice mini apartment!
The pools: there are MANY POOLS! I think the property has 10 in total, varying in size and "feel." The Venetian pools on the 4th floor are a little more busy; more singles, groups and couples. I didn't see many families here. We spent our time mainly in the main Venetian pool. It's just a large rectangle near where Tao beach is. It was perfect and the bar is closeby! Drink prices were $18 for cocktails. Other pools are smaller so definitely walk around to scope it out. Aside from the Venetian pools there are the pools on the 10th floor in the Venezia area? Those pools are much smaller and the atmosphere was much more laid back. Family friendly in my opinion. Choose the area that fits you!
Restaurants: the Venetian has tons of food options that are super closeby if you're staying here. Grand lux Cafe, Yardbird, Chica, and more. We tried out Yardbird and loved the food.
Check out: easy! At check in give them your email and you get sent a link. When you're ready to check out all you do is click on the link to check yourself out; no need to go to the lobby.
Highly recommend this hotel! We had a blast!
