I did not have a good experience with this physician or his staff. I am a physician myself and brought my father in there to be evaluated for possible memory loss. The nurse who initially got the history from my father and did a short memory exam (MMSE), was very unfriendly and had very little personality. He only missed 1 out of 30 which is considered normal by most. When we actually saw the physician, after only a couple minutes in the room and doing a very limited exam, he said that my father probably had early Alzheimer's disease and wanted to start him on a medication for his memory. I repeat, this was the first time we ever saw this physician and had not had any other testing or radiology imaging done at this point. That was completely uncalled for and not the standard in this profession at all. Because of my objection and request for additional testing, he referred us for more extensive questioning to determine the extent, if any, of my father's cognitive loss. However, his office was completely unhelpful with this and continually dropped the ball. It has been almost 3 months and we still have not seen someone for this additional questioning and testing. Because I am a physician, this neurologist was nice enough to give me his card with his cell phone number. Because of all the problems in the office, I called him after about a month of this nonsense and told him how unhelpful his office was and how my father has still been unable to complete the testing. He assured me he would personally follow up and get to the bottom of the problem. That was over a month ago and I still have not heard anything.
