Cafe darak is decorated beautifully with mismatched (uncomfortable) seats, bright lighting, an adorable Volkswagen tent that you can study in and some trinkets here and there. They also have a section where you can buy jewelry made in Korea.
My friend and I came around 3 PM on Saturday and there weren't that many people there. The girl working was nice and recommended the Nutella, hazelnut or pistachio latte. I ended up getting matcha green tea with an added shot (+$0.50 for a large) while my friend got a java chip matcha green tea with an added shot of espresso. Drink prices weren't too bad. They have iced, hot or blended coffee drinks and also offer tea drinks. The worker brought our drinks out to us because it wasn't super busy. My large drink came in a to go cup and my friends small drink came in a mug. Both drinks were super hot.
4/5 java chip matcha green tea with an added shot: good but on the sweeter side. My friend had a sugar crash after finishing the drink. But she did enjoy it!
2/5 matcha green tea with an added shot: I LOVE a strong tea or matcha flavor but this drink was way too bitter. It had too much matcha and needed a couple dashes of milk to tone it down. And, it wasn't very sweet. Not sure if it's because I added a shot espresso which threw them off their normal measurements... I would probably just order a regular matcha green tea next time or a hazelnut latte if I'm in the area.
Lots of people studying with only a handful of people chatting away while enjoying a honey brick toast. I liked that it wasn't very loud... No blenders went off during our 3 hour study session here!
