  • It kills me to rate this place as a 2 as I was so looking forward to going here. I live in the area so when I heard a wine bar would be open I was ecstatic! So last night we decided to try it, my immediate impression was adorable, perfect and cozy. Then we were handed the menu and told the Syrah was out. So your telling me it's 5pm on New Years eve and your Syrah is out leaving us with only 4 other red wines and I think 2 whites. I was disappointed but stayed optimistic as we always are when we try new places. The staff was friendly but they should have been more informative when it came to the food which I'll get to in a minute. But my friend ordered blue cheese with crackers, which sounds reasonable at a wine bar. What she got was a bag of what looked like dog biscuits. The staff said they didn't know but the blue cheese must be inside the cracker. We were expecting a cheese board with crackers and cheese especially for the price of $6! One bite was taken of the crackers by each of us which we barely managed to swallow and decided our dogs would probably not even eat it. Ok for the rest of the food well you got some other types of "dog biscuits in a bag" or a cold rubbery hot dog and some sort of weird chip thing. That was it! When we first of all asked and complained about the cracker situation we were told we should have eaten at Joe's, or some pizza place, or a Thai place down the street or basically anywhere and then brought the food there. What!! No that's not what I want to do, I want to drink wine and at least have some proper cheese, crackers and salami to do so, especially because of the community it is in I definitely had much higher expectations. Ok now lets get to the wine. The one wine I wanted was out so that left 4. We each ordered a different kind which the pricing was outrageous, $6 or $7 for a 3oz glass then double that if you want a 6oz. We ended up going to the keg afterwards where I can get better wine and more of it for less than $14 a glass. Again very disappointing. We did like the wines and probably would have stayed despite the outrageous prices if they just had something decent to eat or snack on. Don't tell me to go somewhere else to eat that's terrible service. My suggestion would be to put in a refrigerator thing that was filled with snacks that paired with wine. Have several different cheeses for the guests to choose from, some salami, and a few different types of crackers. I mean heck hand us a board and we would have even gladly cutt it ourselves. I really hope this place makes some improvements because I love wine and it would be so wonderful having a place that's closer to home and the atmosphere was nice. Also in the future do they plan on serving more than 5 red wines? I was very confused about that too because I thought I was going to a wine bar.
