I was on a cinnamon roll mission. I had a craving but low expectations, so many cinnamon rolls are sad, dry, raisin-tortured lumps of disappointment. The smell walking into this little corner bakery was wonderful and I noted the small cheese and meat counter and super tasty looking pizzas and the small wall of fresh loaves. And then I saw the very promising piles of cinnamon rolls, with the raisin ones wisely separated from the good and pure. I still hesitated, but the sign written in chalk promising that all the baked goods were made with 100% butter won me over, and I grabbed one and a small fig bread en plus...
It was everything I'd hoped for, super fresh and soft and buttery and cinnamon-sugary. No icing, but it really didn't need it. 'Twas perfection. The fig bread was pretty rad too, and the staff were fast, funny and sweet. Happy to discover yet another awesome place in my favourite neighbourhood.
