Went in looking for some specific retaining wall blocks. A person at the counter greeted me and I tried to explain what I wanted - straight blocks rough on the front (face) and sides. He didn't understand what I described & I said there were some on a display outside. We went outside and the first thing he said was "those are full pallets only. you have to buy a full pallet and there are 84 on a pallet". He then asked how many I needed. I said it depended on the size of the block. I stated it didn't look like a typical 8x8x16 block. He said it was. I looked closer & said the block didn't look as wide as high & he insisted it was. Then he looked closer & said maybe it was 8x10x16. At that point I asked he get me someone else to speak to since I needed accurate information to determine the quantity to buy. He said he would get someone else. A few minutes later he came back and said a manager would be out to help me. He also made a point to tell me I dis-respected him. I replied I was there because they were the supposed experts and I could not answer questions without accurate information. If anyone was dis-respected, it was me because I was being given bad information. The manager came walking up and said "OK, I got this, no worries" speaking to the employee. I again tried to explain what I wanted and what I was trying to do. Then I was led to a display that was nothing at all like I said I was looking for. I went back to the display that had what I thought I wanted and was told those blocks were only for end columns and not for a wall. I then asked if they had anything like what I was looking for and was shown some other blocks. Again, not what I wanted. I asked if there was anything else that would apply and was told no. Someone in the area has to have what I want because I've seen it at a couple other homes so, either they have a limited inventory to choose from or they didn't want my business. I'll try somewhere else. No worries, I'm good with that.
