  • After seeing some items on craigslist.org and bonanza.com, plus reading a couple reviews here, my curiosity was heightened, so I wanted to see for myself (like always). After having lunch at Sammy's yesterday, we went here for a look. This is a small place, by the chain standard, Super Pawn. When you enter, there is a loud beep. There were three people working there- two behind the counters (two windows) and gates, one on the floor, rearranging items for display. There were a few other customers besides us three, so I could see it being crowded very easily, as more people entered. To your left, up high on a shelf, are high-end designer bag luggage and trunks such as Louis Vuitton and Gucci (could not see the price tags). The lower end, still on the left wall, had computer monitors and other electronics such as portable dvd players (Sony). At the end were regular dvd movies, priced as little as $1.99 (our friend bought a couple movies). In the middle, in a locked glass display case, were high end designer bags such as Juicy Couture, Christian Dior (a clutch for $599), Coach, Dooney & Bourke, and Betseyville (this is the lower end line of Betsey Johnson). Some of the bags were hard to see, as they were sort of piled in front of each other, and you could not see the price tags clearly (you'd most likely need assistance). On the other side, was specifically for Louis Vuitton on the left side (a lady inquired about a large tote priced at $1200). There was a rather large selection of the Louis Vuitton monogram collection (older, classic style). On one end cap, of this glass display case, were video games for XBox 360, but my husband said that there were way overpriced. Behind the gated counters, were more designer bags (Coach and Dooney & Bourke), hung up on the walls; my guess, is these were the ones priced lower, and on the craigslist and bonanza ads (online). If you're interested in getting designer bags here, this might be the way to go. The ones in the cases are priced significantly higher, and seem out of reach to the normal consumer (regular joes) in this kind of economy. To the right, were sports memorabilia such as signed helmets (Joe Montana, for other Niner fans out there), placed high above. There was a funny display of a bike with a designer bag- Chanel, a quilted black clutch with a chain strap- and other items too, which was kind of tongue-in-cheek, so unexpected (you'd have to see it). Down below were various cell phones in plastic shoeboxes. There was a jewelry case with various different pieces of jewelry- watches, bracelets, necklaces, rings- yellow gold, white gold, and silver. In a freestanding display, was also another jewelry display case. Behind this case, were music CDs that were priced at $2 each. My final thoughts are that this is a pawn shop where the objective is to make money (ever seen Pawn Stars?). And the prices reflect that. If you have other options, check them out, before heading here. But at least, I am not curious anymore.
