I'd been to Escape the Room AZ with an overall good experience for the first time, by our second time joining them completely ruined everything for myself and my group.
We booked a room two hours beforehand at 9pm on a Sunday. Apparently we booked the hardest room without knowing it (until after we failed) which was completely fine with us, but a little warning on the website would have been nice.
The real issue is that when we walked in, we were informed a group of 6 had joined us (which is expected because the max is 10) but they allowed a five year old child to be in the room with us. I was visibly annoyed, and the woman working the desk informed us they don't normally do this but he seemed like an "okay kid". This kid was not okay. As soon as the room started, he was barging in to every riddle we tried to complete saying "what are you doing?", "did you finish the puzzle yet?" And getting his hands all over what we were trying to do.
They should not have allowed a child that young into the room in the first place. We did not accomplish the room, which is totally fine, but the child made things infinitely more annoying and difficult. It was a terrible experience, and our friends who had come from New York had an awful time. Really disappointed they would let someone that young into the most difficult room, because it completely destroyed my opinion of this business and our overall experience.
