  • This is the most disappointing SPG hotel I have ever stayed at. Here are objective reasons why: 1. check-in and check-out was unpleasant 2. room- dirty 3. food- bad service 4. noise- really really really really loud. See below for details. check-in: the first greet from a hotel really sets the tone for the stay for me. I wasn't greeted. A woman who was on a cell phone paging another staff member hand-motioned me over to her side of the counter to check me in. She gave me my key and had me on my way. I asked her where my breakfast vouchers were as this was part of the rate that I purchased. She said to me "if it's not with your keys, then you don't get it." I kindly asked her to please re-check, at which point she gave me the stink eye and repeated herself again that if it wasn't with the key, then I wouldn't get it. I asked again- this time, she got another desk person to check the computer for her. I turned out to be right and she didn't even apologize. I had to ask where the elevators were because as soon as they handed me the room key and the vouchers, they were chatting with each other. room cleanliness: nightmare room. I'll start with cleanliness- I found strands of hair in the bathroom stuck to the wall, on the ceiling; I also found hair stuck to the lampshade on the desk. It was one of those rooms where you felt the need to walk around with your shoes on the entire time. noise: I have stayed in many old hotels where the ac/heating unit gets quite loud. But nothing compares to the one at this hotel room. I am a fan of white noise/background noise when I sleep, but this is no white noise. It was so loud that it kept me up after my 18-hour day. I finally decided that it would be better to freeze and get some sleep than to stay warm and awake. 4:30 AM- I heard the hotel phone ring. I picked it up, no answer. Turns out that it was the wake up call for the room next to mine. The walls are paper thin. I tried to go back to sleep, freezing cold, when I heard girls in the next room who decided to talk like valley girls saying "come on~ we haaave to go...! Waaake uuuuuuppppppp~" I heard their TV, them taking showers, I heard EVERYTHING. bathroom: I'm 5'4'' on a good day. The showerhead was too short for me. I did have to hunch under the shower head. The only pro about the bathroom is that there's decent water pressure. Internet: they have free wireless. But this doesn't mean anything as it has low connectivity everywhere. Honestly, I got so fed up that I just went to a nearby starbucks to work and used my aircard when I was in the room. food: I went down the next morning after a sleepless night for my free breakfast. The restaurant where breakfast was served was very dimly-lit. I felt like I was eating in an abandoned cage. There was one server, who didn't even bring me water or coffee. She was good about bringing me my bill at the end though. It was buffet style of your typical breakfast items: eggs, bacon, sausages, fruit, yogurt, etc. The quality was decent. I had to flag down the server for silverware after standing around the buffet for about 4 minutes with food getting cold on the plate in my hand. Check out: I had stayed here 2 days. I was ready to check out after the first night and go elsewhere, but all other hotels in the area were booked so I had to just suck it up. I had lost a pair of gloves sometime during my trip, so I asked the front desk person if they have a lost and found and if she could please check to see if any have been turned in. She didn't even look. Just said "I haven't had any turned in". How would she know? Has she been working there for the past 48 hours? I just handed in the room key and left. No 'good-bye', no 'thank you for staying with us', and no 'how was your stay?'
